NATIONAL
PARKS
1. Manas National Park ( The only Tiger Project in BTC): Baksa and Chirang District,
950km2 area covered. Tiger, Elements, Golden Languor, Pigmy, Rhinos, etc.
2. Orang National Park: Udalguri and Sonitpur District, 78.81km2 areas Covered. Rhino,
Tiger, Elephants, Leopards, Cobra, Migratory Birds are found here.
3. Rimona
National Park: It is spread across the Gossaigaon and Kokrajhar subdivision of the Kokrajhar District of BTR. It was declared a National Park on 5th June 2021 by Assam’s Chief
Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on the occasion of World Environment Day. Ares covered 422 km2. It is famous for Golden
languor, an endemic species, Asian elephants, Bengal tiger, Clouded leopard,
hornbills, etc.
